Lukas Gaulard

I’m an academic tutor and Distinction graduate from King’s College London, specialising in history, politics, and German. I work with students across all levels—from secondary school (including GCSE and A-Level exams) through to undergraduate study—helping them build confidence, improve their understanding, and achieve stronger academic results.

My approach starts with getting a clear sense of your goals, current level, and the areas you want to focus on. From there, I put together a structured but flexible plan tailored to your needs, whether that’s preparing for exams, improving essay-writing, or developing subject knowledge more broadly. The emphasis is always on steady, realistic progress with clear objectives, rather than overwhelming content.

Lessons are interactive and practical in style. We work through material together, break down more complex ideas, and focus on how to use your knowledge effectively in essays and exams. I also place a strong emphasis on academic skills and exam technique—how to build clear arguments, structure essays logically, and approach questions with confidence.

Overall, I aim to keep sessions supportive, relaxed, and focused. The idea is to create a space where you can ask questions freely, develop at your own pace, and make noticeable progress over time, whether you are preparing for school exams or working at undergraduate level.

On a more personal note, I’m genuinely very interested in history beyond academia. I enjoy talking about it, exploring it, and finding ways to make it more accessible and engaging for others. I currently volunteer at a museum and am also beginning tour guide training, which ties into that same interest in communicating history in a clear and engaging way.
