Hello! My name is Lucy and I am currently studying Criminology at University. Throughout my A-Levels I tutored for Criminology and am looking to continue as a dedicated private tutor with a passion for helping students succeed. I offer tailored sessions in GCSE English Language, English Literature, and Social Sciences (e.g., Sociology, Psychology). My tutoring approach blends structure, support, and strategy—helping students not only improve their grades but also build confidence and a genuine understanding of the subjects.

I incorporate a range of proven techniques, including active recall, spaced repetition, and visual learning methods such as flashcards and mind maps. These tools help students retain and apply knowledge effectively, whether it’s learning key sociological theories or memorising literature quotes. Each session includes exam-style practice, with past paper questions, timed tasks, and focused feedback using mark schemes and model answers.

In English, I place strong emphasis on essay planning, language analysis, and using clear frameworks like PEE/PEEL to build strong arguments. For Social Sciences, I encourage critical thinking and help students link studies to real-world examples and exam requirements. I also ensure students understand the context behind what they’re studying—whether it’s the background of a novel or the origins of a psychological theory.

My sessions are fully personalised, whether students are aiming for a top grade or need support to build their confidence and skills. I create a positive, engaging learning environment where students are encouraged to ask questions, think independently, and take ownership of their progress.
