I am a kind, patient, student-led French Tutor with over 25 years' experience teaching all ages and abilities. I have helped students achieve and surpass their goals with GCSE and A level French exams. I enjoy encouraging and nurturing their skills to help them gain confidence and a high level of understanding and appreciation of the language. When I was at school I really struggled with French so I can empathise and relate to my students' difficulties, whilst now knowing exactly how to help them! During COVID I perfected my online teaching skills, developing techniques using Zoom, Google Meet, MS Teams and Skype software systems. I have a wide range of resource materials which I constantly update and I use Youtube constantly to illustrate points of grammar and make learning fun. I have accumulated a really long list of useful websites, apps, podcasts and other learning resources which I pass on to my students to help them navigate the language and gain a deeper understanding. My lessons either take place at my house, online or at my student's house if they are in the local area. If students are studying towards exams, I will make sure I fully understand their difficulties whilst working through the curriculum and helping resolve any problems along the way. If students are learning French as a hobby or in order to move to France or a French-speaking country, I use a more fluid learning scheme, adapting it to their interests and level of skill, whilst following a basic curriculum to cover the grammar and vocabulary.
