Luci Whiteman

I have spent the past nine years teaching in some of the country’s leading independent schools, helping students to think critically and communicate with confidence. I hold a BA in Philosophy and Education from Durham University, a PGCE and an MEd from the University of Cambridge. As an A Level examiner, I bring a clear understanding of how to meet and exceed assessment criteria, ensuring my students write with precision and insight; a key skill at A Level.

Philosophy can be demanding but, when taught well, it becomes one of the most rewarding subjects a student can study. I help students unpack complex ideas in engaging ways, appreciate nuance and express their understanding with clarity. My teaching combines academic rigour with a supportive and structured approach, and I have a proven track record of helping students achieve results they once thought out of reach.

My approach is thoughtful and methodical, built on high expectations and a belief that genuine understanding leads to excellence. Through clear guidance and structured challenge, I help students develop the tools they need to think for themselves and the confidence to approach complex material with precision and purpose; exactly what examiners are looking for.
