Louis Jeffery

Hello! I am a recent graduate in French and Italian with detailed understanding of written and spoken French. My teaching approach will be tailored and personal and I aim to build a strong rapport with my students to help build their confidence in the language and get the best out of them academically.

By studying French at degree level and spending time in France, I have cultivated a great passion for French language and culture which I would love to have the opportunity to pass on to students of the language. Through my degree I have had the privilege of working abroad in both France and Italy, which gave me the chance to utilise my language skills in a practical setting. In France, this included both working as a front of house staff member in a vibrant restaurant and working with a local herbalist to help with his harvest. In my final year, I undertook a module in French interpreting which further advanced my practical language skills and helped me to gain a wide vocabulary and knowledge of French grammar, pronunciation and culture

Depending on your level I will adapt my teaching approach to your personal needs and goals, whether that be learning from scratch, improving fluency, or simply preparing for an exam. I am calm and approachable, and aim to encourage my students to not worry about making mistakes and to ask questions. I would like to show my students that learning a language is not as daunting as it seems and help them to improve free from stress.
