Lily Johal

As a student myself I understand how to revise effectively and how to explain things in a way that makes sense, and I aim to create a safe environment so that tutees feel comfortable to raise questions and ask for help. Academically, I have achieved 11x grade 9’s at GCSE, A*A*A* in Maths, Chemistry, and Biology A levels, A in AS Further Maths, and a top 0.5% UCAT score. I am currently in my third year of studying Dentistry at the University of Leeds having achieved a first in all years previous.

In the past I have tutored over 25 students from year 9-13 at a range of abilities in maths and sciences. All of these tutees reported high levels of satisfaction as well as grade improvements.

I am a firm believer that everyone learns in different ways, and so I will adjust my teaching to suit each individual and will always be happy to explain topics in different ways to achieve full understanding. My lessons would include thorough explanations of any topic of your choosing using notes and presentations, with plenty of opportunities for students to ask questions, as well as a focus on exam style questions to train exam technique. I mainly tend to use Zoom with my iPad screen shared so we can work through past questions and make notes in real time which I will then share with you after the lesson.
