Lilia Carolina Acevez Mares

My name is Lilia, I am a native Spanish speaker from Mexico, and a current PhD student at the University of Leeds. I hold a master's degree in Food Science and Food Chemistry. I have worked in the food industry as well as within academia. I am a current PhD student at the University of Leeds. I love sharing my language and culture with students from all over the world, and helping them learn in a practical, fun, and personalized way.

My lessons are online, focused on teaching grammar, conversation, pronunciation, and cultural understanding in the Spanish language, depending on the needs of each student. I have experience in teaching and coaching in different areas. I was a professor at a university in Mexico, and I also worked as a swimming instructor. I have worked with groups of all ages. I like to use technological resources to make tutoring more dynamic and enhance the learning process. I always try to make you feel comfortable, confident, and motivated to speak from day one. I am patient, organized, and my main goal is to connect the language with real-life situations through dynamic activities.
