Focusing on Biology, most have a misconception of how to really learn about it. It isn’t simple memorisation of facts and pathways and molecules. Scientists are all acutely aware that in more than one way we are story tellers. Biology research papers tell a narrative, and that’s how I became interested in biology and how i enjoy teaching it. Where as some may give you a list of proteins and signalling pathways to memorise, I like to go through it as a why, how and where situation. And to always bring it back to why do we care about these pathways by referring to the physiological relevance, either in disease, pharmacological or environmental contexts.
