My lessons are designed to make biology both clear and enjoyable, while always tailored to the specific needs and goals of each student. I begin by getting to know the student’s aims, whether that is preparing for GCSE or A-level exams, improving confidence in certain tricky topics, or deepening understanding for university-level study. From there, I create a structured plan that balances core content with active practice, ensuring progress is measurable and consistent.
In each lesson, I break down complex biological ideas into simple, manageable steps. I use diagrams, real-world examples, and analogies from current medical and scientific research to make abstract topics easier to understand. I also encourage students to actively engage with the material through discussion, problem-solving, and guided exam-style practice. This not only strengthens subject knowledge but also helps build the critical thinking skills needed to tackle challenging exam questions.
My teaching style is interactive and adaptable. Some students benefit from visual explanations and worked examples, while others progress best through question-based learning or exam preparation drills. I use a mix of methods, including past papers, tailored worksheets, and digital resources, to match each learning style.
I bring both academic and practical expertise, holding a BSc in Biomedical Sciences with Industrial Experience and an MSc in Infection Biology. My background in research and laboratory work means I can add real-world context to lessons, showing how the principles students learn apply to medicine, biotechnology, and everyday life.
Above all, I aim to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and are motivated to achieve their best. My goal is to help students not only succeed in exams but also gain genuine confidence and curiosity in biology.
