Leo Morgan

I'm currently a first year student at the University of Manchester studying computer science and mathematics. I have strong foundations in both sciences and maths as I have studied physics, chemistry, maths and further maths at A level attaining A, A, A, A respectively.

During my studies, I have frequently taken on a tutor role among the student body. I found this work exceptionally fulfilling and beneficial, not only to students, but myself. The way I teach is highly adaptable depending on a student's strengths and interests. Foremost, a student's attainment in studies is based on an understanding of what they're doing. This is especially relevant as an understanding allows greater comprehension when introduced with new concepts. To implement this, I actively lead students to their own conclusions by building on prior knowledge, helping with memory retention. If a student is having trouble visualising a topic, I would implement visual aids and relate said topic to situations students would be familiar with. I also understand a big part of achieving success academically is also based on exam technique. I have a thorough understanding of exam boards and specifically what and how to express knowledge for maximum marks.

The format is dependent on the student and topic. The lessons will be deeply interactive and the topic is up to the student. This work I present will consist of, if wanted:

Explanations
Paper marking
Study plans
Recommended readings
Recall/flashcards
etc.

I'm sure anyone who actively participates in lessons will achieve any academic goal set.
