Lela Packard

I have performed locally in Utah, USA, since I was 8 years old. I have been part of recitals, festivals, and end-of-year judgings at a local music academy where I began my piano studies. In my undergraduate degree, I prepared for two major solo recitals and took part in concerto and state-wide competitions. In my master's degree, I conducted research on the effectiveness of various practice methods in achieving optimal performance outcomes. These experiences, along with my academic pursuits, have developed a passion for practicing and sharing the gift of music within the local community.

I have developed my teaching skills through piano studio training, music conferences, piano pedagogy courses and nine years of hands-on experience. My teaching philosophy prioritises curiosity, hard work, individuality and enjoyment. I strive to meet where students are on their musical journey - nurturing their technical skills and creating a thoughtful, student led environment that fosters personal growth.

I empower individuals to find their own musical voice. I begin by teaching technique and theory that coincides with engaging repertoire that inspires progress and increases enjoyment. My ultimate goal is to help individuals find the joy in learning music and to teach skills that will help students on and off the piano. I currently offer lessons in an online format.
