I like to use a mix of written exercises and online resources to ensure that my students are actively engaged in the learning while also having a large variety of resources to choose and learn from. Maths is better learnt through understanding as opposed to memorisation, so I try to ensure just that by going slowly over topics and reinforcing the understanding with questions of varying difficulty, as well as having them talk about what is happening in the question and what steps to take to get to the answer. I do an initial assessment to get a bearing of a student's current ability, and then tailor subsequent classes to their pace and learning style.
