Laura Techer

I am currently teaching a pupil with SEND/SEMH (awaiting an EHCP) in a local primary school on a 1:1 basis.

I pride myself on being an adaptable teacher who can think on their feet effectively and flexibly to cater to children's ever changing needs.

I am a very experienced classroom practitioner skilled in proficiently teaching and managing small and (very) large classes. (My last class had 34 children!) I like to run a tight ship; explaining my expectations and boundaries from the outset, to allow lessons to be interesting, fun and effective.

I have high hopes for every child I meet and teach and am invested in each and every one, knowing that they all have a positive role and contribution to make in our modern world.

My experience of living and teaching in the Middle East for 10 years has equipped me with the knowledge and skills to support children whose first language may not be English. It has also enabled me to understand the varying needs of transient children who may experience education through a number of various schools and the unique social, emotional and mental challenges they face.

I can promise a friendly face, a bespoke learning and teaching plan that will be reviewed regularly and a practical and interesting approach to learning!
