Every lesson is usually 60 minutes, but I can adapt the length and pace depending on your needs and what you need to focus on. Lessons are one-to-one and can take place online, with resources shared on screen so we can work through material together.
I’m a Psychology MSc graduate and teach GCSE and A-Level Psychology across both AQA and Edexcel. My aim is to make Psychology feel understandable and manageable rather than something you simply have to memorise.
At the beginning of a lesson, we’ll usually start by finding out what you already know about the topic. I’ll use a few questions to identify what you understand, what you feel confident about and where there may be gaps. There’s no pressure to get everything right, this simply helps me understand where to start and how best to structure the lesson.
We’ll then work through the topic together using clear explanations, examples, diagrams, and real-life applications. I’ll adapt my explanations and approach depending on how you learn best and what you’re finding difficult.
Once we’ve built your understanding, we’ll practise applying your knowledge to exam-style questions. We’ll look at what different questions are asking, how to structure your answer, how to use psychological evidence effectively and how to develop evaluation and application.
I’m also happy to work with neurodivergent students and can adapt the pace, structure, explanations and study techniques to make lessons feel more accessible and manageable. I want students to feel comfortable asking questions, saying when something doesn’t make sense and learning at a pace that works for them.
At the end of each lesson, we’ll identify what you’ve learned, anything that still needs work and some practical suggestions for what you can do before our next session.
My aim is for you to leave each lesson feeling more confident, understanding Psychology beyond simple memorisation, and knowing exactly what your next step is.
