Being a university student, who was once tutored by other university students, I know exactly what secondary and high school goes look for in their tutor. The aim is not simply to teach you every week, its to build a mentor-like relationship, where you feel comfortable reaching out for assistance and advice whenever needed. To this day, I still am in contact with my math's tutor who guided me back in my IGCSE years. I hope to build a similar bond with my students, and create a dynamic that goes beyond bein just a teacher.
Having taught extra curricular clubs with classrooms of over 30 people to individual students online in foreign countries, on topics from forensic studies to religion, I am able to effectively cater to various age groups, learning styles and student requirements, to ensure that each student can access the support that they need. Being a math's ambassador for my final schooling years, exposed me to the prospect of teaching children all the way from year 7 up to 12 on math's topics of varying difficulties. The experience offered me the opportunity to look at key topics through the lens of children of different maturities, and understand how each child looks at everything slightly differently.
With any student that I take under my wing, I look to set goals, aims and targets for them before beginning our journey together, and have such goals kept in mind each day, so we can ensure that our classes are meaningful, and we can visualize ourselves working towards a final goal every lesson.
