I take a structured, student-focused approach to tutoring, ensuring each session is both productive and tailored to individual needs. I begin every lesson with a clear introduction, outlining the topic and setting learning objectives. From there, I walk the student through the content step by step, encouraging questions and asking targeted ones myself to check understanding. This interactive approach ensures that key concepts are not only memorised but truly understood.

To reinforce learning, I dedicate the final 30 minutes of each session to exam practice. We work through past paper questions together, focusing on how to apply knowledge under exam conditions. I guide students through mark schemes so they understand how to frame their answers effectively and gain confidence in tackling challenging problems.

At the end of every session, I offer constructive feedback and suggest personalised strategies and goals for the student to focus on before our next meeting. This helps maintain steady progress and a sense of accountability. Additionally, I take time outside of sessions to compile hand-selected question packs tailored to each student’s specific weaknesses, allowing them to target areas that need the most attention.

With a background of straight A*s and As at both GCSE and A-Level, and previous experience tutoring GCSE Chemistry, I bring both subject expertise and a strong understanding of what examiners are looking for. My goal is to help students not just succeed, but build lasting confidence in their own abilities.
