I am a qualified teacher and experienced private tutor with a strong background across the primary curriculum and modern languages. I work with both children and adult learners, and I am particularly passionate about creating lessons that feel purposeful, engaging and carefully tailored to each learner. My approach always begins with getting to know the student. I believe that progress happens most naturally when there is a strong working relationship and a clear understanding of the learner’s goals, strengths and areas for development. Whether I am supporting a primary pupil, preparing for entrance assessments, or teaching beginners in a new language, I adapt the pace and structure to suit the individual. In lessons, I combine clear explanation with plenty of guided practice and scaffolded support. I am a strong believer that a good tutor is not simply an encyclopedia of answers. Instead, I encourage learners to think for themselves, develop problem solving skills and build confidence and resilience in their learning. My sessions are structured but flexible, with regular review built in to consolidate progress. I use my own carefully prepared materials and resources alongside high quality published content where appropriate. This allows me to respond quickly to each learner’s needs and keep lessons focused and efficient. My professional philosophy is rooted in the belief that all behaviour is communication. I bring patience, active listening and a calm, positive presence to my work, creating a space where learners feel safe to take risks and grow. All of my experience and knowledge help me to create creative lessons and learning programmes supported by music, singing, dancing, games and humour if appropriate. I love nothing more than incorporating my students’ interests to make learning as fun and engaging as possible!
