I have been an English teacher in Secondary schools since 2015 as well as an AQA English Literature examiner. I have taught across the English Literature texts and have a passion for making English Language skills accessible and straightforward. I'm also an advocate for improving reading skills to benefit students across all of their subjects and demonstrating how the skills used within GCSE English are transferable.

My sessions will be completely tailored to either a Paper, Question or Text you want to focus on - we can put together a long term plan to support you across several months or complete targeted sessions focused on boosting your knowledge in certain areas. I'm happy to offer a variety of sessions from essay writing skills, to exam technique, learning to revise, and teaching/revising content with you. I will always prioritise your starting point and where you envision yourself to be, with realistic outcomes. Every session will capitalise on your strengths to help boost confidence and resilience when it comes to more challenging topics.

Ultimately, I'm a firm believer that exams shouldn't be how young people are defined and so my tutoring will always be about you as an individual and what you are capable of achieving; I will not be recycling material without any thought for how you learn. The sessions will be all about what you need and the best strategies for ensuring you succeed.

Qualifications wise, I graduated with a First Class Honours Degree in BA Classical Studies from Royal Holloway, University of London in 2015, and received my PGCE with Distinction from Canterbury Christ Church University in 2016. I also hold a NCFE Cache Level 2 Certification in Understanding Children and Young People's Mental Health.
