My lessons would normally be a brief introduction with the student, explaining what I teach giving them a brief background about me, then based on their needs and areas of weakness, I would give lessons based on certain topics and subjects where they suggest so it would purely be based on what the student requires in terms of academic support and boost. I can vary using whiteboard, explaining content going through example questions together, consolidating information and helping them answer exam questions. As a current university student and ex-pupil from school it is easier for me to relate and understand concerns with academics and certain subjects they may struggle with. As stated previously I have had a plethora of experience when it comes to public speaking, communication and teaching. Throughout my time in secondary school I was peer mentored by students in a higher academic year who helped me achieve high grades in GCSE and after during sixth form I became a peer mentor for GCSE students giving them tips and helping do the same and achieve higher grades through advice, exam tips, support and one-to-on tutoring. At the same time it helped me learn as personal development. It was a catalyst to boosting effective communication and being more organised. From a personal experience I have always had a passion for helping others as I envision they would help me if they were in my position. I am always keen to gain experience and continue to learn on my academic journey now being at university and being in a completely new environment and place.
