I'm a passionate GCSE Biology tutor who helps students turn confusion into confidence. Biology can feel like an overwhelming wall of terminology and processes at first, but with the right approach, it becomes one of the most logical and satisfying subjects to study.
My lessons adapt to how each student learns best. Some sessions are structured and exam-focused — working through past papers, mark schemes, and the specific wording examiners look for. Others are more relaxed and conversational, talking through tricky concepts like the nervous system, genetics, or homeostasis until they genuinely click, rather than just being memorised. And because Biology is full of processes that are much easier to *see* than to read about, I use diagrams, models, and practical examples wherever they'll help.
Before diving into content, I take time to understand where a student is getting stuck, which exam board they're studying, and what actually keeps them motivated. From there, lessons are tailored: sometimes fast-paced and drill-focused ahead of a mock exam, sometimes slower and more exploratory when we're building foundational understanding of a tricky topic like cell biology or photosynthesis.
I cover both Combined and Triple Science Biology, with a strong focus on exam technique — how to interpret command words, structure longer 6-mark answers, and avoid the small slip-ups that cost easy marks. I also help students connect topics across the specification, so Biology feels like one coherent story rather than disconnected facts to memorise.
