I'm an online tutor and I try and teach in a way that benefits my student. Id spend the first 20 minutes of the session getting to know the student, if they learn by being told? I will have a conversation with them. If they learn by reading or by writing? We can come up with mnemonics to remember important aspects of the course. If they learn by doing? We can do exam questions and practice exam technique as we go. Making mind maps, flash cards, utilising games and using THEIR hobbies to engage them in learning more than just telling them what they have to know. I'm able to teach science, business, english and psychology at GCSE, and biology, chemistry and psychology at A-level, as well as being able to support students that are looking into going into healthcare in interview preparation, ways of tackling the UKCAT, and other aspects to medicine and other allied degrees that can increase their opportunities to succeed!
I am engaging and approachable, known to be someone that you can rely on with questions without judgement. I will be someone to listen to, and someone that will help to support my students through their worries and concerns, as well as their academic pursuits, as the mental state you have is just as important as the skills you possess, and everyone needs someone in their corner to help them feel like the CAN and WILL succeed, and give them the skills to feel that way for themselves. On top of being available for 1-1 tutoring, I can offer being able to answer smaller queries and homework help over the phone or on text, when I get time between lectures and after uni.
I hope to be seeing you!
