Kim Duffy

I am an experienced Biology teacher, teaching and tutoring Grades 6 - 12 for the past 16 years. I take an interactive approach to tutoring and use a combination of teaching methods to keep the learning fun and interesting. I use content notes, images, diagrams, interactive websites, practice questions and videos in my tutoring. Once I hear and appreciate your needs, we can start with the basics, focus in on specific content or practice applying your understanding through interactive quizzes, questioning and discussion, and past-paper exam questions where students can practice using appropriate biological vocabulary in their answers as well as practicing multiple-choice questions. We will discuss and evaluate what is needed to improve marks on the exams, and I can also give test-taking tips for anyone preparing for exams. We can practice practical skills through exemplar investigations and past-paper questions as well. I will meet each student where they are by hearing their goals and needs or by having them take an assessment to see where are their greatest needs.
