Kierstyn Sutherland

I have a 120-hour TESOL and TEFL certification from UNI-Prep Institute and a Bachelor’s degree in History and Political Science. I am also working towards a Master’s degree in Developmental Psychology and Mental Health; my projected graduation is Spring 2024.

Aside from the experiences I have gained throughout my educational career, I also have experience with tutoring children and college aged adults. Additionally, my entire work career thus far has consisted of management in some regard- direct team, clients, and talents, which has given me many opportunities to provide education and training.

My chosen educational tract and people service careers demonstrate that I have a deep passion for educating and helping others. I believe that my educational, workplace, and tutoring experiences will be able to translate over into a classroom environment. Further, I am proficient and experienced with a wide range of technology and am always willing to adapt.

Above all, I am committed to people service, and I am very open minded and respectful of all people. I plan to incorporate a student-centered learning environment with a communicative approach, and eclecticism when necessary so that all students have a successful learning experience with their individual learning needs met. I understand that all students have different experiences in regard to social, cognitive, affective, static and dynamic factors, and I will strive to ensure that all students are set up for success in reaching their learning goals.
