My lessons follow a clear and supportive structure, so students know what to expect while still feeling comfortable and heard. We begin with an open, guided conversation where I ask thoughtful questions to understand the student’s experiences, challenges, and goals. There is no pressure to have everything figured out; the first step is simply to make sense of what feels confusing or overwhelming.
Together, we then decide on an approach that feels appropriate for the student’s needs. Sessions may focus on managing stress, building confidence, improving decision-making, or navigating academic and personal transitions. I use structured tools, reflective exercises, and practical practices drawn from counseling psychology and the CASEL framework of social-emotional learning and life skills development.
Sessions are calm, non-judgmental, and student-centered. My role is to create a safe space where students can think out loud, ask difficult questions, and learn how to understand their thoughts and emotions more clearly. Once progress is made there, I can bring in professional inputs from my practice and experience. Rather than giving advice, I help students develop skills and provide thinking tools they can use independently.
Progress is reviewed regularly, and the pace is always adjusted to what feels supportive and manageable. All lessons are conducted online and are tailored to each student’s comfort, context, and goals.
I especially work well with students who feel stuck, anxious, or unsure, and I prioritise trust, confidentiality, and clear boundaries so students feel respected, supported, and in control of their learning process at all times.
