I have an initial meeting with prospective students to determine their level of proficiency, how they want to learn, preferred text books and other resources. I then suggest a learning schedule and we take it from there.

Lessons are fun, interactive and paced to stretch students, while not being too prescriptive or challenging. I encourage questions, discussion and spontaneity as these are all great ways to learn, and I provide the structure and knowledge to make the most of each leasson. In particular, I ask students not to be afraid of taking a chance, guessing answers to questions or trying something new, as these are all helpful to the learning process and also make the lessons more interesting.

I teach English as a foreign language, for which I have a qualification and a lot of experience. Having had a career in large corporates as a learning specialist, with a focus on project and process management, I understand the challenges of connecting the strategic to the operational without tying yourself up in knots. I work well with senior leaders who want to learn English or improve how they understand conversation in formal business and more informal settings. We'll build rapport and you'll enjoy yourself, while making real progress on your language skills.

For younger people, I'm easy to get along with, understand the challenges of a social media/AI driven world, and can help you navigate all this while enjoying yourself rather than feeling like it's all some weird, stressful, unwinnable competition.
