My lessons will be entirely based on student strengths and weaknesses- any student that approaches me and articulates their struggles, I will find a way to tailor my lessons to that. For example, students struggling with analysis at GCSE level, I will go over unseen extracts and questions to further understanding. For younger students, if reading, for example, is found to be a struggle, I will read through various levels of texts with them and work on words or sounds they find difficult. I work fully with the students needs in mind and will happily spend extra time going over one topic until they feel happy and comfortable with applying what they have learned. Due to the approach I take, many of my resources will be self-made, and therefore perfectly tailored to a students’ level of understanding, points of difficulty, or level of experience. All lessons will begin with an introductory chat, something casual and informal for the student to be able to articulate their struggles, and I will then go on to give an overview of my best advice on how to improve that, making sure the student is happy with what I intend on working on with them. Any lesson may last as long as the student requires if there are specific things they wish to go over. My lesson timings will differ from time to time, usually ranging between 30 minutes and 1 hour. I really hope to help improve any student’s understanding of a subject I’m so passionate about, and wish to help every student have a good chance at fulfilling their full potential.
