About me

Every lesson starts with a quick check-in on where you're at, so we're never wasting time on things you've already nailed or rushing past things you haven't. I build lessons around clear, step-by-step explanations first, then move into practice questions modelled closely on real GCSE exam papers, so you get comfortable with both the content and how it's actually going to be tested.

I use a mix of visual diagrams, real-world examples, and worked exam answers to break down tricky topics, whether that's balancing equations, explaining the nervous system, or working through electricity calculations. If something isn't clicking, I'll explain it a different way rather than just repeating myself, since I've spent years adapting my teaching style to different learners in the classroom.
Lessons are interactive, not just me talking. I ask questions throughout to check understanding, and I want you to ask questions too, no matter how "basic" they feel. Getting things wrong is part of how we figure out what to focus on next.
Towards exam season, sessions shift more heavily towards past papers, mark scheme breakdowns, and exam technique (things like command words, how many marks a question is really asking for, and common mistakes examiners flag). Extensive work with students of all abilities including learning needs and SEN students, lessons are fully adapted to the needs of the student. I have proven experience getting students to achieve 2 full grades above their predicted grades in GCSE science, and taken a student from 30% to 87% on independent schools exam board
