As an educator, I continuously evaluate my teaching to determine how I can more effectively engage and appropriately challenge my pupils while accounting for individual learning styles and needs. I investigate, apply and adapt various teaching methods and strategies. Additionally, I search for new ideas, activities and resources, and draw upon my own creativity to enhance curriculum and enrich student learning. As a language teacher, I always seek to develop lessons that are cohesive to academic content, that target skills that will help them to be successful in academic, professional and personal realms, and that are meaningful to learners so as to increase their excitement and curiosity for learning. I base instruction upon various assessment results to concentrate on language skill data strands of reading, listening, writing and speaking.

In addition to my rich instructional experience, my accelerated command of the Spanish language and advanced knowledge of Latino cultures will enhance students’ learning experience. My academic studies, travels to Spanish-speaking countries and involvement in the Latino community have all contributed to my native-like fluency of the language and understanding of Latino cultures. Additionally, I have had the opportunity to share my passion for exploring new cultures as I chaperoned high school students on a school trip to Costa Rica.
