I have some prior experience in private Spanish tutoring, which helped me develop my lesson-planning skills. I was required to keep my classes in line with what the students were learning in school and work out their strengths and weaknesses within the subject. This helped me make more specifically tailored classes that helps students to thrive. This tutoring was online, which meant that it was flexible and easy for both myself and the students to call, whether it was after a day of school or over the holidays. As a tutor, I will spend the lesson time going over content and asking the student questions to gauge their level and help further their learning, and will write up my own worksheets to do between classes to solidify what we have covered. My degree in Spanish and French at the University of Leeds has helped reinforce my spoken Spanish ability, and I have been able to learn the various teaching styles that work for different students. I am a few months away from heading off to live in Spain for a year abroad of study, and so I feel confident that I will be able to provide a well-rounded, thorough and enjoyable experience for all students! I enjoy the language and understand the importance of reinforcing learning outside of the classroom, and ensuring that students keep up written, grammatical, and aural Spanish skills over the summer holiday. I will be available to tutor remotely, any day of the week, working around the students' schedule.
