I am a dental student at the University of Birmingham. I was unsuccessful in my first application, which led me to take a gap year, during which I worked as a dental nurse. During this year, I also spoke to many dentists and others as well as spending time finding out what universities look for. This meant that I was able to change my approach and I managed to receive 4/4 offers in my second application. I understand exactly how difficult the whole process is, from exams, to entrance tests and interviews. I have tutored many others through all the components of the application process and have managed to get them into their desired courses. From my experience, I know that everyone has a different style of learning, but the same goal of getting the grades they need. I tailor every lesson for each student in order to pass on everything I have learnt and guide them towards the results they want.
I know that the application process, as well as the healthcare field is constantly changing, so I like to keep up to date with everything, through continuous research by speaking to others as well as articles. This enables to help my students in the best way, giving them the best possible chance to get the grades and offers that they desire.

Every student is different and understands content in different ways. I like a lot of feedback from students so that I able to figure out the best way to teach them. My lessons are very interactive, with a lot of contribution from the student. I believe that it is very important to keep my lessons engaging, making sure that the student has a strong understanding of the content first, but the main focus is tackling exam questions as this is the best way for a student to know how to approach the actual exam. I have used this method with all my past students and it has consistently been successful.

I have tutored many people through A level Biology and Chemistry, helping them receive As and A*s as well as some tutoring GCSE sciences. I have also helped a lot of students with their personal statements, UCAT (some of my students scored in the top 5%), and through the Medicine and Dentistry interviews.
