Studying Maths, Further Maths, and Physics at A-level was a turning point for me, as it confirmed both my strengths and my genuine enthusiasm for analytical thinking and problem-solving. I loved the challenge of tackling complex problems and the satisfaction of seeing concepts come together with precision. That experience gave me both the confidence and the curiosity to take my studies further, first into physics at degree level and later into doctoral research in energy systems. The enjoyment I found in my A-levels shaped my academic path and set me firmly on the trajectory toward a PhD, where I could continue pushing myself to explore, question, and apply mathematical and scientific ideas to real-world issues.
One of the most rewarding experiences I’ve had as a tutor was supporting a GCSE student who had been struggling and predicted to achieve low grades in his exams. By the time of his exams, he was not only more motivated but also able to approach problems with clarity and self-belief. He went on to achieve solid Bs across his science GCSEs, exceeding both his predicted grades and his own expectations.
I believe that working through practice questions is one of the most effective ways to prepare for exams, as it builds familiarity and confidence while reinforcing key skills. To support this, I have written my own series of practice questions with detailed explanations of the answers, which I will be more than happy to go through step by step!
I’m genuinely excited about the chance to support students in building their confidence and achieving results they can be proud of. Every learner is different, and I look forward to tailoring lessons.
