Advert description
I am a qualified Primary School Teacher from the World #1 for Education / Teaching UCL Institute of Education (for the 12th year running), with a 1st class degree in Education and Social Science with a specialism in Maths (A at Masters Level).
I have been working as a tutor for the past 13 years: I had the pleasure teaching little kids as young as 5, helping KS2 pupils with their SATs and 11+ preparations, supporting GCSE and iGCSE students in both Maths and English (AQA, Edexcel and Educas exam boards), assisting adult learners to achieve their Functional Skills qualifications as well as helping teaching assistants in both primary and secondary schools to brush up on their numeracy skills. I also had the privilege of delivering a teaching training qualification in Maths, Level 5 in a college where I was advancing Maths teachers' teaching skills.
It is an absolute passion to make Maths engaging, enjoyable and fairly easy. Never think Maths is not your thing and you apparently do not have those 'Maths brains' - let a good tutor show you its beauty and, believe me, in many cases simplicity.
As far as my teaching style is concerned, it is very much varied and adaptable, as I strongly believe everyone learns in their own unique way and my job as a tutor is to work it out and deliver the sessions in the best possible way in order to cater and meet YOUR individual needs.
You will learn in a safe, non-judgemental and encouraging environment where every little achievement is celebrated and every mistake is perceived as a great learning opportunity.
I provide both 1:1 and group sessions (5-6 people, 12 week programmes) with a LOT of personalisation, mini video lessons, video marking / feedback, termly 1:1 calls to discuss progress. Group sessions are always a big success as I match people who are in exactly the same boat as you so you have a mini community of learning buddies who help each other and often build long lasting friendships.
I look forward to helping you achieve your full potential and success :)
