Katie Ward

Hi, I'm Katie! I hold a Bachelor's degree in Translation Studies: French & German and previously lived in Paris, where I taught English -- I also regularly converse in French with native and fluent speakers. These experiences have given me a strong understanding of both French and the challenges that come with learning another language!

I want to create an encouraging and welcoming environment where there's no such thing as too many questions -- and really enjoy helping others succeed.

Our first few lessons will aim to identify how you learn best and understanding your goals. Everyone has their own style of learning, so all lessons will be tailored to suit you and your objectives. If you're studying French at school or for an exam, I'm more than happy structure lessons around your syllabus. If you're learning for work (or maybe just because you want to !), we'll work out a plan that suits your needs. There'll be occasions in lessons where we'll do exercises and additional reading to expand your vocabulary.

My goal is to equip you with the knowledge to apply grammar and vocabulary independently, and the autonomy to progress outside of lessons. Lessons will be relaxed and informal, while still covering all the necessary material !

I'm a strong advocate for learning languages because of the additional skills you develop and the opportunities it unlocks. I hope to share that enthusiasm with my students to help you build your language skills and confidence using them.
