I am currently studying on my second-year of study for Bachelor's degree in Physics with Astrophysics at Keele University with an average grade of 84% in my first year. In addition, I have a Foundation Degree in Physics from Keele University where I achieved an overall grade of 73%. I also studied both Physics (OCR) and Mathematics (Edexcel) at A-level.
I tailor all my tutoring sessions to the individual student based on their needs. The first session (free) will be used to identify said needs; whether that be needing help with specific concepts, whole topics or their general curriculum. This helps me establish the level of the student's knowledge, and better adapt to their requirements.
I believe education should be engaging and fun, so I try to include topical physics memes/jokes as much as I can, in moderation.
At Key Stages 3 to 5, I personally found the physics curriculum uninteresting and dull. In many areas, they fail to link the content being cover to real world applications, advanced physical concepts (simplified, of course), or interesting topical trivia, so I try to include this in my tutoring wherever possible.
In terms of my teaching experience, I took part in a paid internship programme for several weeks at St Joseph's College, where I was a teaching assistant for GCSE and A-level Mathematics and Physics classes. During my time there, I assisted students, taught classes, and partook in all-day Physics faculty meetings. I also received official training in 'Level 1 Safeguarding Children'.
