Hello all! I am an A Level and Bachelor Degree Level Psychology tutor. I have tutored for 6 years!

I hold a First Class BSc (with Honours) in Psychology, and an MSc in Clinical Neuroscience. I am a member of the British Psychological Society (GMBPsS).

I have completed a further education programme learning the ins and outs of Neuro anatomy, where I was awarded a certificate of education with a university in the United States of America.

I have tutored numerous different students for different subjects in the past, including: Business studies, Sciences, English, French and Italian. Within the last few years I have specialised in tutoring psychology, specifically as A Level.

I have experience working in schools and nurseries as a teaching/nursery assistant, so have experience working with younger children also. While in this role, I would help younger infants learn through play. With older children, I would take them out of class to do some reading, to practice their phonics, or even to help with maths for those who were struggling. I have experienced working with children and young adults with learning disabilities and physical disabilities.

I previously worked in a hospital in a healthcare setting and I sometimes trained individuals up to work on the wards! I would get a new individual to mentor, I walked them through the basics and let them ask questions. I would first let them watch me perform a skill, such as removing a cannula from a patient, I then talked through the skill as I performed it, then I mention cannula care and why it’s important and ask if they have any questions. If they felt confident, I then supervised them to perform this skill, and I would report them as competent in performing the skill.

My main taught subject is psychology and I have tutored this since I achieved my A levels, and continued it throughout my undergraduate degree at university. I’ve had numerous different students, all with different needs and help needed in different subject areas. I’ve even had students ask for help with writing styles, and I do grammar, punctuation, and spelling checks for students. I am more than happy to do proof readings of assignments and make suggestions. I have good experience in academic writing.

Most of my previous teaching experience has been online and all of my current tutoring is online. I deliver my lessons using a PowerPoint and I incorporate different activities to reinforce my students' understanding. I also test my students at the beginning and end of a topic to see their progress. I often set students essays every couple of weeks and show them examples of essays.

My teaching style is fully flexible and I adapt it to each student, with a teaching style which benefits them. Before I have a tutor session with you, I will usually message to see which topics you would like to focus on, and if there are certain aspects such as, writing essays, I can adapt the lessons.

The main exam board I cover is AQA, Edexcel, and OCR. The topics I cover/teach are Social Influence/Psychology, Memory, Attachment, Psychopathology, Approaches in Psychology, Biopsychology, Research Methods, Issues and debates, Schizophrenia and Forensic Pyschology at A Level. I cover many more at degree level including; Cognitive neuroscience, Clinical psychology, and Diagnosis and Formulation.

If my students are interested in any other topics in psychology I am happy to teach those also. I will happily answer any questions about any topic or the subject as a whole.
