Hi! I'm Kartik, a B.Tech student at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Ropar. My interest in Mathematics comes from understanding the logic behind concepts and discovering different ways to approach a problem. I believe that anyone can become good at Mathematics with the right guidance, consistent practice and a clear understanding of fundamentals.

My academic background and experience

Being an IIT student, I have studied Mathematics extensively, including Calculus, Linear Algebra, Probability and Statistics. My academic background has also given me a strong foundation in analytical thinking, logical reasoning and problem-solving. I enjoy breaking down complicated topics into simpler explanations that are easier to understand and remember.

How my lessons are structured

Every student has a different learning pace, so I prefer a personalised approach rather than following the same teaching method for everyone.

My lessons generally follow this structure:

1. Understanding the student's current knowledge and identifying topics that need attention.
2. Explaining concepts from the basics using simple language and relatable examples.
3. Working through solved examples to understand how concepts are applied.
4. Practising questions together, gradually increasing the difficulty level.
5. Reviewing previous topics and addressing doubts to ensure consistent improvement.

My teaching methodology

I focus on conceptual clarity rather than rote learning. Instead of simply telling students which formula to use, I explain why it works and when it should be applied. I encourage students to attempt questions independently, think through different approaches and learn from their mistakes.

I can help with school Mathematics, homework, assignments, examination preparation, revision and strengthening fundamental concepts.

My aim is to make Mathematics less intimidating, improve problem-solving confidence and help students develop an understanding that stays with them beyond examinations.
