My lessons are designed to be clear, structured, and tailored to each student’s individual needs and goals. I mainly teach GCSE Biology and general science, and as a medical student, I aim to simplify complex topics and explain them in a way that is easy to understand and remember.
A typical lesson begins with a quick recap of previous material to reinforce understanding, followed by introducing the new topic in a step-by-step manner. I use a combination of explanation, diagrams, and real-life examples to make concepts more engaging and relatable. I also encourage active participation by asking questions throughout the lesson, rather than just lecturing, so students stay involved and build confidence in their knowledge.
A key focus of my lessons is exam technique. I regularly incorporate past paper questions and mark schemes to help students understand exactly how to answer questions to gain full marks. I will guide students on how to structure answers, avoid common mistakes, and recognise key command words used in exams.
Although I am at the beginning of my formal tutoring journey, I have experience supporting GCSE-level students as a tutor assistant, helping with homework, explaining difficult concepts, and acting as a bridge between students and tutors. I have also worked with younger learners in different settings, which has strengthened my ability to communicate clearly and adapt to different learning styles.
Overall, my lessons are supportive, interactive, and focused on helping students improve both their understanding and their exam performance, while building confidence and developing effective study habits that will benefit them beyond just exams.
