Hi everyone I am Kamiah an experienced,passionate and dedicated Mathematics tutor with almost three years of tutoring experience across a range of settings, including professional tutoring centres and private tuition.I am also a Mathematics undergraduate at Queen Mary University of London, where I continue to strengthen both my subject knowledge and problem-solving skills.

I teach Mathematics at all levels, from primary school through to GCSE and A-Level, and I am confident working with all exam boards(Edexcel,AQA etc)My tutoring style is structured, supportive, and results-driven. I use a well-formulated lesson plan tailored to each student’s needs( Including SEND), ensuring that concepts are fully understood before progressing. I strongly believe that success in Maths comes from a combination of clear explanations, consistent practice, and confidence-building.

One of my proudest achievements is supporting a student who initially had a predicted grade of a U in GCSE Mathematics and, through targeted intervention and ongoing encouragement, went on to achieve a grade 7 in the final exam. This reflects my ability to identify gaps, rebuild foundations, and guide students towards meaningful improvement.

Beyond academics, I incorporate mentoring into my tutoring. I focus on raising students’ confidence alongside their ability, ensuring they not only improve their grades but also believe in their own potential. I create a positive learning environment where students feel supported, challenged, and motivated to succeed. My aim is to help every student become confident, independent, and resilient in Mathematics.

In the first lesson, I carry out a structured yet relaxed assessment to understand the student’s current level, strengths, and areas for development, as well as their academic goals and any timeframes they are working towards. This allows me to gain a clear picture of where the student is and where they want to be. Using this information, I design a fully tailored learning plan and recommend an appropriate number of sessions to ensure steady and realistic progress. Each subsequent lesson is carefully planned and includes clear explanations, guided practice, and opportunities for independent problem-solving. After every session, I provide detailed feedback on progress, outline next steps, and adjust the plan where necessary. Homework tasks are set to reinforce learning between sessions, helping students build consistency and confidence outside of lessons. I also understand that every student learns differently, so I remain flexible in my approach, adapting lesson pace, teaching methods, and scheduling where needed to best support each individual’s success.
