Kaja Dowsett

Hello. I am an English and Philosophy student at the University of Edinburgh. I am passionate about tutoring because a classroom setting cannot always adapt to an individual style of learning, which is something I struggled with myself.
I specialise in:
GCSE
- AQA boards for English literature/language, History or Religious Studies at GCSE level
(Achieved all 9s in these subjects 2 years ago so still have a relevant knowledge of the course)
A-LEVEL
- AQA Religion, Philosophy and Ethics (Focused on Christianity for religion)
- AQA History (specifically Germany, Tudor years)
- Edexcel English Lit, specifically Poems of the Decade, Keats/Romantic poetry, Othello, Streetcar named Desire)
- EPQ preparation
(Achieved A*A*A in these subjects and 59/60 in EPQ)
How I run lessons:
- My style of tutoring is hopefully intuitive and adaptable throughout the lesson - if something is not working, please tell me how you learn best so that you can get the most of our lessons.
- Feel free to bring any work you have done in class that you would like feedback on! (Also so I can see your strengths and areas for improvement)
- Let me know what you’re struggling with, or if you need help identifying what to work on, I can help with that too.
- Working on exam skills is a main area of focus, as this is covered less in the classroom. It’s a good way to go over content too!
