My lessons are structured, engaging, and fully personalised to each student’s goals and level. Whether you’re a complete beginner, preparing for GCSE or HSK exams, or looking to build conversational fluency, every session is designed to help you progress with confidence.

A typical lesson begins with a short warm-up and review of previous material to reinforce learning and build continuity. I then introduce the day’s objectives so you know exactly what we’re working toward. New content—whether vocabulary, grammar, characters, or pronunciation—is taught step by step, with clear explanations in both Mandarin and English when helpful. As a native speaker of both languages, I make complex ideas easier to understand and remove the barriers that often make Chinese feel intimidating.

Lessons are highly interactive. You’ll practise speaking, reading, listening, and writing through guided activities tailored to your learning style. I provide gentle correction and constructive feedback throughout, helping you improve naturally while building confidence. For exam students, I incorporate past papers, targeted revision, and exam-specific strategies to ensure you feel fully prepared.

We end each lesson with a brief recap and clear next steps, so you always know how your learning is progressing. Whether online or in person, my teaching style is patient, supportive, and encouraging—creating a positive environment where students feel motivated and capable.
