Hello! I’m Julia, a qualified Modern Foreign Languages teacher and Cambridge University graduate, offering online lessons in French, Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese.

I’ve just completed my Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) at University College London’s (UCL) Institute of Education. I have experience teaching across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5 in London schools, as well as internationally in Spain and France. I work with learners of all ages and backgrounds - from beginners, to GCSE and A-level students, and adult learners. Whether you're preparing for exams or simply learning for personal or professional enrichment, I can help you!

My lessons are interactive, structured and highly personalised. I combine grammar, vocabulary and skills development with a strong emphasis on intercultural understanding—something I also explored through postgraduate research into how teaching culture enhances motivation and engagement. I strongly believe language learning should be both rigorous and meaningful, helping learners develop confidence, curiosity and global awareness.

One of my greatest strengths as a tutor is relationship-building. I create a calm, supportive space where learners feel safe to ask questions, take risks and make progress. I draw on authentic materials and real-world cultural insights, shaped by my own experiences of living and working in Cyprus, Toulouse, Lisbon and Valencia, to bring language to life in a way that’s personal and relevant.

I’m also a lifelong language learner myself - I am currently learning Dutch! - so I understand the joys and challenges of picking up a new language.
