Joshua Sharma-Biring

I have experience teaching in a range of educational settings, including Millennium and Greenacres Primary Schools, as well as youth clubs such as Woolwich Common and Hawksmoor. Through these roles, I have taught students across a wide range of ages and abilities from early primary and SATs preparation to early secondary and GCSE level.
This experience has allowed me to develop my own effective teaching methods, tailored to each student’s individual needs. I begin by using past paper questions and custom-made assessments to identify a student’s current level and pinpoint areas for improvement. From there, I create focused lessons designed to strengthen weaknesses and build confidence.
My teaching approach centres around helping students fully understand topics by explaining concepts from different perspectives and using methods suited to their learning style. I strongly believe in mastering weaker areas through structured practice and repetition, using carefully selected questions that gradually increase in difficulty to ensure long-term understanding and exam readiness.
I have successfully applied these methods in both classroom environments and one-to-one tutoring sessions, consistently seeing positive progress in my students’ confidence and academic performance. I personally used these same techniques during my own GCSE studies, achieving a Grade 9 in Mathematics, which reflects the effectiveness of this approach.
