I love helping primary school children build confidence with maths in a way that feels supportive, not stressful. My lessons are structured but relaxed: we usually start with a quick recap of what they already know, move into the new topic broken down into small, clear steps, then finish with practice questions so they can try it themselves while I'm there to help if they get stuck.

I use simple, everyday examples and visuals to make abstract ideas click — turning numbers into things kids can picture and relate to, whether that's sharing sweets to understand fractions or counting steps to grasp place value. I'm big on checking understanding as we go, so I'll often ask a child to explain a concept back to me in their own words — it's the best way to spot gaps before they become bigger problems.

I have experience preparing and delivering content for primary-aged children in group settings, adapting material so it's age-appropriate, engaging, and easy to follow. I'm patient, encouraging, and focused on building a child's confidence as much as their skills — because once a child believes they can do maths, everything else follows.
