I am from Richmond, London and am studying Mathematics at Durham University.
I have experience teaching maths from KS3 up to A level standard. This includes having delivered in person private tutoring for an international summer school in Cambridge.
I achieved A*A*AA in my A levels and ten 9s, one 8 at GCSE, and am therefore familiar with the questions, conventions and best ways to handle exams throughout the school system. Having taken these so recently can be an advantage compared to those used to older exam boards.
I offer tuition at £20/h with a £10 trial session to let you try my lessons out. I can tutor most times at weekends or in the evening during the week.
Lessons will be built around gaining familiarity with common methods and underlying principles as opposed to memorisation or relentless repetition. I am a firm believer in the use of practice problems and past paper questions for improvement of understanding and acquisition of better marks.
I am flexible in my style and willing to cater to any other preferences or needs of the student where needed. Homework can be arranged if preferred and we will go through the questions again in the beginning of each session.
The tutoring will cater to the specifics of the Exam board and specification of the course being studied, so having this on hand will result in better outcomes. Although I am happy to tweak for most of the exam boards, I am especially experienced with Edexcel.
