With a first-class Master’s degree and a PhD alongside a decade of experience, I bring a deep knowledge and enthusiasm for science. I can show you the real-world applications of theory and explain why it matters, and bring concepts to life in easy-to-understand ways. I'm an expert in a wide range of scientific fields, and I've won awards for science communication.
I tailor my approach to each student, using an initial lesson to find a baseline, and building a framework for learning from there. I adapt my teaching to the needs of the student, with lessons typically taking 1 to 2 hours, drawing on curriculum and past papers to build problems. I can cater for any age group from GCSE upwards to undergraduate, dependent on the study area. By breaking down concepts into easily understandable chunks, and bringing them together into a larger picture, you will have a more comprehensive knowledge of you chosen subject. I aim not only to help you succeed in the exam room, but also to be able to take these lessons into the real world.
I've taught undergraduates in teaching laboratiries, as well as mentoring students though independent research projects. I've taught students from a wide range of backgrounds and abilities, working with them to find out where they need to improve.
I can do either online sessions, or I can work in person with students in the Manchester area. Being flexible in this manner allows you to fit study sessions into your day when it is convenient, and make sure your getting the most out of them.
