My lessons are structured but flexible, designed to suit each student’s goals and learning style. I usually begin by reviewing any topics the student has found challenging recently or recapping previous material to reinforce understanding. From there, we focus on a specific topic or skill, breaking it down into manageable steps using clear explanations and worked examples.
Once the student feels comfortable, we work through practice questions together, gradually increasing difficulty to build confidence and stretch their ability. I encourage students to explain their thinking as we go. This helps identify any misunderstandings and improves long-term retention.
I tailor each session based on the student’s needs, whether that means preparing for upcoming exams, tackling tricky homework problems, or reinforcing core concepts. My aim is always to create a supportive, engaging environment where students feel confident to ask questions and make steady progress.
My teaching philosophy is centred around building understanding, confidence, and curiosity. I believe that effective learning happens when students feel supported, listened to, and encouraged to ask questions. No two students learn the same way, so I adjust my approach to suit each individual — whether that means using real-world examples, breaking down problems step by step, or exploring different ways to explain a concept.
