I like to make my lessons friendly, interactive and tailored to each student.

I usually start by checking what topics they’re covering in school and what areas they feel great about and what they would like more support in. We’ll go through key things in each topic step by step, using clear explanations diagrams and a lot of practice! I’ll also ask the student how they like to learn and adapt my way of teaching when needed.

I also like to include fun ways to remember difficult things, for example using emojis, catchphrases or memory tricks to make the content stick.

Once students are confident with the basics, we’ll work through exam-style questions so they know how to apply their great knowledge as well as understand it better. These will always be tailored to the specific exam board the student will be using, as each is different!

I ALWAYS encourage students to ask any questions they want, as no question at all is a silly one.

Each lesson will be a structured one, but will allow flexibility depending on the student’s needs and goals. If it helps the student, I can also set short and optional homework tasks to make sure the content really sticks, but never to add more pressure. Learning should be fun and I want my students to enjoy the subject as well as do well in it!
