My lessons are centred around the needs of each student. Rather than simply going through a whole topic from start to finish, I try to identify the areas where a student is less confident and focus our time there. This might mean going back over difficult concepts, working through practice questions together, improving exam technique, or trying different explanations until something clicks.

I aim to make lessons interactive and flexible. I encourage students to ask questions, explain their thinking, and point out where they feel stuck, so that we can work through problems step by step. I also think it is important to adapt my approach depending on the student, as different people learn best in different ways.

At the end of lessons, I like to agree on some work or revision for the student to complete before next time. This gives them a chance to practise independently, and in the next lesson we can review how they got on, clear up any mistakes, and build from there. My goal is to help students become more confident, independent, and comfortable with the subject.
