My lessons are designed to be engaging, supportive and tailored to each learner’s individual goals, whether that is gaining a qualification, improving employability or building confidence in a subject. With experience across primary, secondary, SEN and PRU settings, as well as my current role as a tutor at PHX Training, I understand how to adapt my teaching to suit a wide range of needs and abilities.
I typically structure lessons with a clear objective, starting with a short introduction or recap to assess prior knowledge, followed by guided teaching using modelling and worked examples. Learners are then given the opportunity to practise skills independently or collaboratively, with ongoing support and feedback throughout. I use scaffolding techniques and adaptive questioning to ensure all learners can access the content while still being appropriately challenged.
My lessons are practical and focused on real-world application, particularly for learners aiming to improve employability. I aim to build not only subject knowledge but also confidence, communication skills and independence. I create a calm, inclusive environment where learners feel comfortable asking questions and making progress at their own pace.
With my QTS qualification and varied teaching background, I bring both strong subject knowledge and pastoral awareness to my sessions, ensuring learners feel supported academically and personally while working towards their goals.
