Hello! I'm Joe and I'm from Lincoln, a city in the east of England. I'm looking forward to meeting you!

I've recently completed my Cambridge CELTA certification, so I'm now officially qualified to teach English both online and in person! As for my experience - I've worked as an English teacher both inside and outside of the UK. During my studies, I worked at English 4 All, a charity in Brussels, as a teacher of English to people seeking asylum there. I loved feeling like I was making a real difference in the lives of my students, and it was very rewarding to see their confidence grow as our lessons progressed!

When I was in unversity, I also worked with a charity called Jacari. Did you know secondary school kids in the UK who don't speak English often feel isolated, left out, and alone? This is what Jacari aims to tackle. I helped children of all backgrounds become more confident in speaking English - not only in a school setting, but outside of school too. As children with some grasp of English and fluency in their mother tongue, they were often made to act as translators to their parents in all kinds of situations - at parents' evening, in the supermarket, on phone calls... this is why I was pleased to be able to help these kids thrive both in school and at home.
